Three Green Birds is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization and as such, we rely on donations and fundraising to keep an operation of our size and ambition running as smoothly as possible.

Where does the money go?

  • To support our chapters. Each chapter in good standing gets a monthly allowance to help cover operation costs, in addition to its own funds (which it must report back to us). Chapter operation costs include transportation, gardening equipment and machinery, facilities rentals, water bills, plants/plant food, soil, basic insurance, and meetup.com fees.
  • To support our organization’s operating costs. This includes promotion, collateral, facilities rentals, telephone fees, email/website hosting, transportation, paperwork, maintenance of our chapter database, and office equipment.

Where do funds come from?

  • Corporations who see the value in what we do and provide invaluable, regular donations, either monetary and/or material.
  • Generous benefactors.
  • Fundraising events like Community Garden Markets, festivals, and harvests.
  • Donation drives.
  • …and supporters like you!
